Structural Engineering Research/Pipeline Inspection Lab

The Structural Engineering Research/Simulation and Pipeline Inspection Lab is housed at UTA's Civil Engineering Department. The lab deals directly with research and services through the state-of-the-art full-scale experimental testing, nonlinear finite element model analyses, and artificial intelligence/machine learning-based failure analyses for remaining service life prediction of infrastructure systems.

The lab is fully equipped with in-house Multi Sensor Inspection [MSI] robots for inspection of gravity and sewer pipelines. The recently developed artificial intelligence and machine learning-based algorithms for prediction of pipelines remaining service life through employing MSI inspection data is unique throughout the nation.
