Faculty Fellows Program
Join the UTA Honors College as part of our new Faculty Fellow team!
The Program will consist of 10-12 selected Fellows who will actively participate in building upon the excellence of the Honors College.
Selected participants will receive professional development training from top honors professionals from around the country and engage in the discussion about what honors education can and does mean today, all with the intent of making our College a true destination honors college for students across Texas, the nation, and the globe.
Eligibility
Must be a full-time faculty member at UTA. No previous experience with honors education is required.
Award
Active fellows will receive a $1000 per semester in beginning Spring 2026 and extending through the end of Spring 2028. They will also have the opportunity to participate in many of our Honors activities, courses, trips, etc. as appropriate.
Expectations
Active fellows are expected to
- Attend a series of honors workshops in Spring 2026 to familiarize themselves with the working of the College and engage in active discussion of topics of interest to the national honors landscape.
- Actively participate in Honors onboarding events, generally as panelists, assisting new students in acclimating to becoming a member of the UTA Honors College.
- Offer four mini-courses (2-3 meetings, 1-2 hours or the equivalent each with a small group of honors students on a topic of the Fellow’s area expertise) per year as a Fellow. These are ungraded and meant to build academic community within the College.
- Assist students in need of advanced-level academic advising in the Fellow’s disciplinary area.
- Contribute to the College’s governance by serving on our Faculty Roundtable.
- Act as a liaison to the Fellow’s home college.
- Advocate on behalf of the College to various UTA stakeholders.
- Advance the mission of the College by offering input on new initiatives or suggesting innovative projects, partnerships, or programs.
- Assist with advising students applying for nationally competitive awards and/or graduate schools.
- Generally assisting the College to best serve our high-achieving students.
As appropriate, we expect Fellows to have opportunities to design and offer honors courses, direct or participate in study-abroad programs and other experiential learning opportunities, attend regional and national conferences, and participate in other exciting Honors events.

Fellows selected in Spring 2026 will have a term that extends through the end of Spring 2028.
