Advising Requirements for Post-Licensure Undergraduate Nursing Students
If you are a practicing RN in pursuit of your BSN degree, you will work with our RN Advising Team! Students interested in the RN-MSN program will also be advised by the RN Advising Team.
Please note: If you are an undergraduate student but do not hold an active, unencumbered nursing license, you will be advised by the Prelicensure BSN Advising Team.
Students in the undergraduate post-licensure undergraduate programs are encouraged to meet with an Academic Advisor once a semester.
All students may schedule an in-person, phone, or virtual appointment with an Academic Advisor.
While the main advising office is located in Arlington, Academic Advisors regularly visit the Fort Worth campus to provide advising to our campus-based student cohort.

Nursing License Verification
Students are required to provide verification of an active, unencumbered license for acceptance into UTA and the Nursing program when submitting the application. The Office of Admissions and the College of Nursing and Health Innovation use NURSYS, a national database, to verify student license credentials. The NURSYS licensure and disciplinary database is the repository of the data provided directly from the Nursing Commission to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing’s (NCSBN) and is primary source equivalent. To learn more about NURSYS, please click or tap here
To assist in expeditiously verifying your credentials, please ensure your information is available in this database and correctly typed on your ApplyUTA application.
We also encourage you to sign up for NURSYS e-notify.
Using NURSYS you will benefit by receiving license expiration reminders, status updates to your license, and tracking your nurse license verifications for endorsement. Visit the link above to learn more about the benefits of e-notify.
