The UTA Leadership Academy is designed as a broad leadership development program that includes the essential characteristics and skills needed to be an effective leader in a higher education environment.
It is a program that will focus on practical leadership topics, issues within higher education, and personal leadership development. The program is based on semester cohort of fifteen to twenty faculty and staff. Staff and faculty participants can be nominated to the academy by self-nomination or recommendation by a Chair/Director/Supervisor, Vice President or a Dean.
A selection committee will then determine which nominees will participate in the spring semester 2024 cohort. Faculty nominees can be a tenured or full-time non-tenure track faculty member. Staff nominees must have at least three years of professional experience and one year of continuous full-time employment with UT Arlington.

The division heads will review the applicants for that division, interview and choose the fellow with whom they wish to work.
