Scholarships

Each year, the Department of Political Science awards named scholarships to continuing students. The application process occurs in March/April of the spring semester. Dawson Scholarship

The Dawson Endowed Scholarship was created in memory of a highly regarded former faculty member and department chair, Dr. Irving Owen Dawson. 

The endowment's objective is to provide academic scholarships for Political Science majors and to help recruit and retain qualified political science students. Selection is made by the Department of Political Science scholarship committee. Any UT Arlington political science major may apply.

All other factors being equal, preference will be given to members of Pi Sigma Alpha and students with a focus in Public Policy/Public Administration.

The award may be used for tuition, fees, and books. All Awardees will be referred to as Dawson Scholars.

Katsikas Scholarship

The friends and family of Suzanne J. Katsikas created an endowment to honor this esteemed former faculty member and department chair. The endowment is intended to provide highly qualified political science majors with financial support and to help retain them within the program. Selection is made by the Department of Political Science scholarship committee.

Any UT Arlington political science major may apply.

All other factors being equal, preference will be given to members of Pi Sigma Alpha and to students with a focus in International Relations or Comparative Politics.

The award my be used for tuition, fees, and books. All Awardees will be referred to as Katsikas Scholars.

Moon Scholarship 

This scholarship was made possible by one of his many devoted former students to attract and retain motivated and high-quality students. Selection is made by the Department of Political Science scholarship committee. Any UT Arlington political science major may apply. All other factors being equal, preference will be given to members of Pi Sigma Alpha and to students with a focus in International Relations or Comparative Politics. 

The award may be used for tuition, fees, and books. All Awardees will be referred to as Moon Scholars.
