Financial Aid

The Department of Psychology offers various scholarships to students to assist them in paying for tuition and other college expenses. Students can apply for these and other scholarships using the Mav Scholarship system.


Undergraduate Scholarships

Dr. Andy Baum Memorial Endowment in Psychology Scholarship

These scholarships provide financial assistance to undergraduate students of high merit majoring in psychology.

Dr. Gary K. Teng Endowed Scholarship in Psychology

These scholarships provide financial assistance to undergraduate students majoring in psychology. Applicants must be full-time students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.


Graduate Scholarships

Verne Cox Psychology Scholarship

This scholarship is given to students who have been accepted into the Ph.D. track of the UTA psychology graduate program. Applicants must be enrolled full time as first year graduate students and must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants should submit the name and email address of a UTA faculty member to provide a letter of recommendation.

Laurie and Paul Paulus Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship provides support to students accepted or enrolled in their first year in the Industrial and Organizational (I/O) Psychology master’s program with preference given to incoming out-of-Texas or international students.

Ralph H. Rodick Sr. Mentoring and Leadership Scholarship

These scholarships are given to full-time graduate students who have been accepted in the Industrial and Organizational (I/O) Psychology graduate program. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and should provide the name and email address of a UTA faculty member for a letter of recommendation.

Cindy Atha Shira Simcha "Pay It Forward" Scholarship Endowment

This award is for UTA graduate students who received all or a majority of their preparatory education in a country other than the United States. Applicants must be majoring in Psychology, Music Vocal Performance/Opera concentration, or be in the College of Engineering. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, be a full-time graduate student, and must not have any other form of financial assistance offered at UTA.


College of Science Scholarships

In addition to the department scholarships, the College of Science has the following scholarships which are open to chemistry and biochemistry students. Students can apply through Mav Scholarship and deadlines are generally in late January each year.

Ann H. Benham Endowed Scholarship

These awards are for deserving undergraduate students in the College of Science.

Bobbitt Family Endowed Scholarship

These awards are for full-time graduate students pursuing a doctoral degree in the College of Science.

Dr. Franklyn Alexander Scholarship

These awards are for College of Science undergraduate and graduate students; preference is given to students who have graduated from a Texas high school in a town with a population of less than 150,000.
