Energy Usage Dashboard

UTA's energy dashboard breaks energy usage in buildings into two different sources – electricity and natural gas. Electricity is used for lighting and cooling, and natural gas is used for heating. These two sources of energy cycle throughout the year depending on outside temperatures.

Energy conservation, an important priority for powering the University’s 7.3 million square feet of building space, is measured by “energy use intensity,” which is the amount of energy used divided by the number of square feet. This provides a sense of how energy efficient the campus and individual buildings are.
