Waste Dashboard

UTA tracks waste generation very carefully, the results of which are shown below.

Highlighted on this dashboard is UTA’s waste diversion rate, or the percentage of waste generated but sent somewhere other than the landfill (i.e. recycled or composted). Even more impactful than waste diversion is waste reduction, or the decrease in overall discarded materials, which can be supported by systems of reuse and a decrease in purchasing of new materials.
