Welcome to the UTA Department of Physics! Our department offers outstanding undergraduate and graduate programs from the bachelor’s degree through the Ph.D., designed to prepare students for successful careers in physics and related fields.

Our faculty are dedicated educators and accomplished researchers who advance knowledge across a broad range of areas, including nanomaterials, particle physics, astrophysics, space physics, and nanobiophysics. Their research is nationally and internationally recognized and supported by funding agencies and organizations, including the National Science Foundation, NASA, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, among others. A defining strength of our department is the opportunity for students to engage directly in research alongside faculty mentors, where they develop the analytical, computational, and experimental skills. These experiences provide an important foundation for advanced study and professional careers while allowing students to contribute to research at the forefront of physics.

We are equally committed to supporting our students beyond the classroom and laboratory. Our free Physics Help Clinic provides tutoring and academic support, while our student organizations foster a vibrant community of learning, collaboration, and professional development.
