American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month

American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month is celebrated during the month of November. In 1990 President George H. W. Bush approved a joint resolution designating November 1990 “National American Indian Heritage Month,” (including “Native American Heritage Month” and “National American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month”). The month is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, histories, and contributions of Indigenous people. It is also time to explore the state of well-being of Indigenous people in the United States.
