The call for Child Welfare Scholars in 2025-2026 is closed. The new call for Child Welfare Scholars in 2026-2027 will be open in August 2026. In August 2026, any currently enrolled student at UTA (undergraduate or graduate) is eligible to apply. We will select up to three child welfare scholars per year, and scholars can re-apply in subsequent years. Affiliates will have opportunities to network with child welfare faculty, researchers, and providers, collaborate on projects related to child welfare, have their profiles featured on the CWRC website, and present at the annual Child Welfare Symposium hosted by the center. In addition, affiliates are eligible to apply for a professional development award (one awarded per year) that will fund up to $2,500 of costs to present their work at a conference as a SWRC affiliate. Please reach out with any questions to Dr. Catherine LaBrenz, catherine.labrenz@uta.edu or cwrc@uta.edu.
