The Studying Alcohol and Related Risks (STARR) Lab advances scientific discovery and social work scholarship related to the etiology, prevention, and reduction of substance use and associated risks among adolescents and young adults. The lab serves as a collaborative hub for interdisciplinary research, training, community engagement, and mentorship of students, postdoctoral fellows, staff, and early career faculty. Grounded in social work values and methods, the STARR Lab addresses substance use and co-occurring behavioral health concerns through innovative and community-informed approaches.
