Our #1 in Texas CSWE accredited Bachelor of Social Work program offers options to take classes on-campus in Arlington, Fort Worth and 100% Online. In-state and out-of-state students can apply for the online program. The BSW degree prepares you for general entry-level Social Work and for graduate studies in the MSW program. Most of our BSW students graduating qualify (based on grades, time completion, etc.) for Advanced Standing in the MSW program and are able to have their first year of the program waived allowing them to complete the MSW program in about one year.
Our new Bachelor of Science in Substance Use & Treatment program offers options to take classes on-campus in Arlington and 100% Online. In-state and out-of-state students can apply for the online program. The BSSUT courses satisfy the educational requirements for Texas licensure for the Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). Students completing the required field internship at a SUT-related agency may be able to count the hours toward the LCDCi requirements. Be sure to check your state’s licensure requirements. We also offer a minor in SUT.
Our top-ranked Master of Social Work Program is CSWE accredited, affordable, and convenient with options for full-time or part-time, advanced standing, cohorts, dual degree programs, and graduate certificate options. You can take classes 100% online or on-campus in Arlington and Fort Worth.
In-state and out-of-state students can apply for the online program. Out-of-State students completing the MSW program online will pay in-state tuition rates if they reside out of state during the duration of the program. We have been offering our MSW program since 1967 and the MSW online program started in 2010, so we have years of experience with in-person and online education. The same faculty teaching our in-person classes, teach our online classes.
The BSW degree is not required (more than 60% of our MSW students have a bachelor’s degree in another field). The GRE is not required – just follow the two-step admissions process.

If you are interested in research, scholarship, social justice and furthering Social Work education, the Ph.D. in Social Work may be the right fit for you. Doctoral students work closely with our award-winning faculty who are Social Work research leaders and pioneers. We offer a full-time program with generous funding and stipend packages for our students covering the first three years of tuition. Ph.D. students are also able to teach earning adjunct pay and can apply for graduate assistantships and fellowships conducting research alongside our faculty. A new cohort starts every fall semester.
