Fall 2016 Industrial Engineering Capstone Design 

An Analysis of Chick-Fil-A

The goal of this project is to decrease the wait time at Chick-Fil-A, increase throughput, and decrease the queue length. A decreased line and improved wait times will attract more business and keep customers from abandoning the line. We also seek to reorganize the line and layout in a way that will allow customers to easily access drinks and other pre-made items without waiting on other customers who are waiting for other orders to be prepared. 

 

 

IMSE Facility

The IMSE department redesign of office and lab spaces was deemed necessary to analyze and increase the usage capability of the spaces as part of continuous improvement.

 

 

UPS Next Day Air

Over the years, UPS has had a steady increase in next day air shipping volume. All packages in the eastern operations are flown from Dallas Ft. Worth Airport on three scheduled flights with a potential “hot flight” that can be flown out as well. The company would like us to consider potential ways to increase next day air volume availability.
