Every interaction a candidate has with UTA helps shape their perception of our institution. From application to final decision, hiring managers play an important role in creating a professional, respectful, and engaging experience for every candidate.

A positive candidate experience strengthens UTA's employment brand, supports recruitment efforts, and helps attract top talent. Whether a candidate is selected or not, timely communication, transparency, and professionalism leave a lasting impression.

This section provides guidance and resources to help ensure a consistent and positive experience throughout the recruitment process.

Important Considerations When Reviewing Candidates

  1. Candidates who do not meet the minimum qualifications listed in the job posting should not be considered for the position.
  2. If minimum qualifications change during the recruitment process, the position must be reposted to ensure fairness and consistency.
  3. Consistent application of minimum qualifications supports equitable candidate evaluation and selection.

Managing Candidates in the Recruitment Process

Maintaining accurate candidate statuses is essential to an efficient recruitment process and a positive candidate experience.

The Applicant Tracking System allows hiring managers and applicant reviewers to track candidate progress throughout each stage of recruitment. Keeping statuses updated helps ensure candidates receive timely communication and that all stakeholders have visibility into the hiring process.

When a candidate is no longer being considered, updating their status and notifying them through a template email in UT Share Recruitment will help keep them informed of their recruitment status.

Why It Matters

  • Promotes timely and transparent communication
  • Improves the candidate experience
  • Keeps recruitment activities organized and efficient
  • Supports accurate reporting and compliance requirements
