Freshmen Orientation Schedule
Summer School/Fall Enrollment
If you are starting classes in the summer or fall semester, your orientation will consist of two parts: online pre-orientation modules and a two-day orientation experience. The pre-orientation modules will be available in early April and introduce you to various aspects of UTA. Our two-day orientations will occur throughout the late-spring and summer, and they are filled to the brim with information and fun.
For summer 2021, you have the option of attending orientation virtually or face-to-face on the UTA campus. Choose the orientation date that best works with your schedule and your comfort level. However, the face-to-face orientation is HIGHLY encouraged, and UTA will provide that experience in the safest manner possible. Our safety plan for face-to-face orientations will be shared on our website in April, and it will explain how the program is designed to occur under the local and federal guidelines for the COVID-19 pandemic.
Face-to-face orientations will include a required overnight stay in Vandergriff Hall between day 1 and day 2 of your orientation. This experience will provide you with the opportunity to make new friends and get a taste of the life of a UTA student. Again, our orientation program will deliver this experience while making every effort to maintain student safety. Students who participate in the face-to-face orientation sessions will be charged an additional $45 to cover the cost of meals, housing, materials, and staffing needs. This fee will be added to your student account in MyMav after you attend orientation.
A one-day orientation session is available in late April. This abbreviated, virtual session will be offered at the same cost as our 2-day sessions, but it will include a free registration to Maventure Camp (a $75 value).
The one-day orientation for spring semester students focuses primarily on academics, though our orientation staff is always happy to help you learn more about campus involvement and student services.
