GLASS PROGRAM ANNOUNCES HOLIDAY SALES AND FUNDRAISERS

Assistant Professor Justin Ginsberg, Art and Art History Department glass area coordinator recently announced the launching of three holiday fundraisers for the program. Over the past 20 years, the glass area has relied on its hugely popular annual public sales to generate funds to purchase raw materials, repair and maintain state-of-the-art equipment, as well as offer funding opportunities to the incredibly dedicated glass students. Since the COVID-necessitated cancellation of last spring’s glass sale and upcoming on-campus holiday sales, the program has had to seek out and implement creative new ways to generate support.

SPARK Campaign: Open from now until December 31, 2020

In partnership with the University, the glass program is initiating a SPARK campaign which creates an online fundraising platform for generous supporters to give tax-deductible donations to ensure the continued success of the program. A donation, in any amount, will go a long way.

Online Art Auction: Open from November 24 – December 6, 2020

For the first time in the glass program’s history, an online art auction featuring glass artworks created by students, staff, faculty, and visiting artists will be held. 50% of each sale will go to the artist who created the work, and 50% of the sale will go back into the Glass program’s budget. The hand-selected works can be viewed and bid upon through the website, airauctioneer.com beginning on Tuesday November 24 at 8 a.m. and run until midnight on December 6. Registration is easy, and you can receive notifications when bids have increased on an item you are interested in. On November 24, please visit the site and see what exciting artworks are up for auction.

Registration is required in order to attend, only 8 individuals will be allowed in the space every 30 minutes, and every attendee will be required to wear a mask and sanitize hands before entering. Shoppers can sign up to attend the event by going online and selecting a time that best fits their schedule. Once registered, the physical location of the sale adjacent to the UTA campus is 1037 W.
