Thomas Posavac has been the Events Manager for the UTA Department of Music since October 2008.

Prior to returning to the UTA campus, Thomas held arts administration positions at the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Rochester, NY; the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, Urbana, IL; and the Lutheran Summer Music Festival hosted at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN.

As a trombonist, he has performed with Buddy’s Big Band, Fort Worth, TX; the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra, Sheboygan, WI; the Racine Symphony Orchestra, Racine, WI; The Prairie Ensemble, Champaign, IL; the Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra, Champaign, IL; and the Penfield Symphony Orchestra; Penfield, NY.As an educator, Thomas taught private low brass lessons for 15 years in Texas, Illinois, and New York.

While a student, Thomas spent two summers competing in DCI with the Freelancers Drum and Bugle Corps, Sacramento, CA and the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps, Canton, OH.

Outside of the office Thomas spends his free time researching history of the UTA Department of Music, practicing trombone, and can found in local bowling alleys.

Mr. Posavac holds a Bachelors of Music in Music Education from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Masters of Music in Trombone Performance from Texas Christian University.  Thomas is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda, TCU, and is an Honorary Member of Kappa Kappa Psi, Delta Sigma Chapter, and Tau Beta Sigma, Gamma Nu Chapter.
