Consultations

Career Spot Drop-Ins are for brief, 15 minutes or less, consultations to answer any career-related questions you may have, including networking, interview help, job search strategies, resume and cover letter reviews, or an overview of our services. Career Spot Drop-Ins occur from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. every Monday-Friday while the university is open. See how you can visit with us at drop-ins by logging into Handshake.

If you require a longer consultation with a career consultant, please schedule an appointment by logging into your Handshake account or leaving a voicemail for the front desk at 817-272-2932 or emailing our staff at careers@uta.edu

More About Career Appointments

In an appointment you can: 

  • Discuss career options of interest and strategies to connect with employers.
  • Identify your interests and strengths or interpret the results of Focus2.
  • Understand and utilize successful job/internship search strategies.
  • Practice your interview skills with a mock interview.
  • Develop a personal plan of action for the job/internship search process.

If you'd like your resume reviewed you have a few options: 

  • You can attend a Resume/Cover Letter Workshop, see Handshake for dates. This option is not for an in-depth critique, just provides general resume/cover letter assistance.
  • You can attend drop-in hours at the Career Spot on Mondays- Fridays from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and have your resume reviewed. This option is for a brief critique of your resume.
  • You can submit your documents on Handshake to receive an in-depth critique from our resume assistant. Career Center >> Resources >> Resume/Cover Letter Critique Submission Form

    For a more thorough review of your resume, submit it through Handshake by clicking on ‘Career Center’ then ‘Resources’ and then ‘Resume/Cover Letter Critique Submission Form.’ We will email you feedback within 5-7 business days.
