Experience Job Fairs at UTA

Job fairs are a great opportunity to connect with employers from a variety of organizations and industries. Your primary goal should be to obtain information on companies that interest you and to learn how to effectively get your foot in the door when you are ready to obtain a job or internship. Job fairs can result in job opportunities down the line but remember that this is only the first step in the process!

Internship Fair

Attend our Internship Fair where you can network with recruiters about open internship positions they have in their organization.

All Majors Job Fair

This fair is designed to provide students and alumni from every major the opportunity to network with over 120 different employers.

Virtual Job Fair

Network with employers from anywhere with an internet connection. In this fair you’ll be able to connect with recruiters through live online chats and watch employer webinars.

College Specific

Check with your academic college and/or school to see if they host an additional job fair for employers hiring for your specific major.

Engage with Employers

Information Tables

An opportunity to receive information and engage in short, meaningful conversations with an organization about the organization itself and current opportunities.  Tables are ‘Sponsored by the Career Development Center’ and available in multiple locations across campus, or online.

Information Sessions

Meet with employers in a less formal setting than an actual interview. Employers have the chance to speak with you about their organization, their industry, the types of positions they have to offer, what they are looking for in a candidate, and answer your questions about their organization.

On-Campus Interviews

These are an easy, convenient way to meet with an employer for an interview without leaving the UTA campus. Be sure to check out Handshake to see what employers currently have interviews scheduled.

Employer Office Hours

Converse with an employer for a brief, 15-minute or less, drop-in meeting without needing to set up an appointment. Employers will be available to review your resume, give quick advice about interviews and job search strategies, or answer general questions.

Mavs on Site

This program provides students an opportunity to learn more about an organization’s structure and workplace culture.

Internship Workshop

A moderated Q&A session where recruiters discuss the importance of an internship and have a chance to highlight their own internship program.

Employer Hosted Events

In addition to our events hosted on-campus, we consistently advertise on Handshake employer hosted events. These events, often held at an employer’s off-site location, or remotely, typically focus on recruiting you to be a new employee, learning more about the organization, networking, interviewing, or hiring.

Embark on a specialized job experience

Dallas Area Rapid Transport (DART)

UTA has partnered with the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) to create an opportunity for you to be included in a year-long DART/UTA Transportation Leadership Academy. This Academy will provide you the chance to: Participate in a paid internship; achieve real work experience, especially as it pertains to the transportation industry, by working on a DART project; develop leadership skills by interacting with DART executives; and, the potential to be interviewed for employment at DART at the conclusion of the Leadership Academy.

College Work Experience Program (CWEP) with Lockheed Martin

The UTA Lockheed Martin College Work Experience Program (CWEP) is an ideal opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to gain real-world work experience relevant to your academic and career goals while maintaining full-time enrollment with the University of Texas at Arlington. The program provides you with a year-round paid opportunity to explore a unique training experience on the cutting edge of technology. Dining Etiquette

Wonder why there are so many forks at a place setting? Unsure of when to place your napkin on your lap? Are there certain things you shouldn’t talk about at the dinner table? Dining Etiquette is an experience to help you learn and practice good etiquette and brush up on your skills.

MavMentors is a mentoring program through the University of Texas at Arlington that includes students, alumni, and employers. The program runs year-round and primarily focuses on building connections between students, alumni, and employers through an online mentoring platform and in-person networking events.
