Outside Scholarships

Outside scholarships include any funding received from sources other than UTA, the state, or the federal government. Awards sent by foundations, civic and religious organizations or companies are common examples of outside scholarships. College savings plans are not scholarships and should be sent directly to Student Accounts.


Instructions to Turn In an Outside Scholarship Check

Download the Outside Scholarship Provider Form and forward it to the scholarship provider that will be sending the funds. Include your correct UTA student ID number to avoid delays in processing your scholarship.

If you, the student, received your outside scholarship check, you have have two options:

  1. Drop your outside scholarship check off with a representative in the Scholarships Office, located in the University Administration Building, Room 201.
  2. Mail your outside scholarship check to the Scholarship Office:

Important: Include your correct name and UTA student ID to avoid delays in processing your scholarship. Please provide any documents you received via mail or email regarding the scholarship. 




Donors have two options:

  1. Mail the check with the completed Outside Scholarship Provider Form.
    • Verify the check is payable to the University of Texas at Arlington and the student's UTA ID number is included on the check.

  2. Electronic payments via ACH payments are available with strict requirements. You must be able to provide student's information in the banking transaction. Email schol@uta.edu for more information.
