Please note: Dates given are approximate depending on the addition and/or placement of department/college administrator and faculty response steps. Things may go slower or faster than listed. These are guidelines with a hard start date and end date due to UTA's responsibility to report results to the UT System. Please complete your step in a timely manner in order to not impinge on people's time to process evaluations later in the workflow.

Other Related Deadlines for Tenure Stream Faculty:

-Candidates going up for Tenure/Promotion or Promotion to Full Professor in AY 2023-2024 must notify their department chair or program director of their intention before March 24, 2023. Failure to notify the department chair by the deadline will result in delayed consideration until the following year.

-Chairs send the names of the faculty coming up for tenure and promotion and promotion to full to their Dean’s office by March 28, 2023.

-Deans send the name (Dept, UTA ID, and Email) to Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs by March 31, 2023 (Minerva Cordero; cordero@uta.edu)


-Candidates going up for Tenure/Promotion or Promotion to Full Professor in AY 2023-2024 must submit their External Review list to the Department/Program chair April 14, 2023

Note: Deadlines for mail notification of tenure track non-renewal by certified mail:

 
  • For non-renewal for faculty in their first year: March 1, 2024

  • For non-renewal for faculty in their second year: December 15th, 2023

  • For non-renewal for faculty in years three to five: March 1, 2024

  • For non-renewal for faculty in years three to five, the notice states that the faculty member will not be renewed in a tenure-track position beyond May 31, 2025

 

Other Related Deadlines for Non-Tenure Track faculty:

-Candidates going up for promotion in AY 2023-2024 must notify their department chair or program director of their intention before September 25, 2023. Failure to notify the department chair by the deadline will result in delayed consideration until the following year.

-Chairs send the names of the faculty coming up for promotion to their Dean’s office by September 28, 2023.

 

*A Rating of “unsatisfactory” or “does not meet expectations” in a faculty member’s first year review will trigger an early review in fall of their 2nd academic year.

** A faculty member seeking tenure and/or promotion or undergoing a post-tenure review does not have to submit an annual evaluation separately; the aforementioned review submission will suffice

† The evaluation of the dossier of tenured faculty seeking promotion to full professor will serve as an early Comprehensive Periodic Review
