Promotion and Tenure:+ Due Dates/Deadlines

 Flow opens for Candidate to send dossier to Provost’s office
 (for verification of completion) 

 Faculty submits by 9/14 (if not before.) We encourage faculty
 to submit early for completion  check. If the dossier is incomplete,
 we can send it back to faculty to add missing material and they
 would still have time to make the 9/14 deadline. Faculty also have
 the ability to recall the dossier up to 9/14 if submitted early.

 Other Related Deadlines:

 

 Candidates going up for Tenure/Promotion or Promotion to Full Professor in
 AY 2020-2021 must submit their External Review list to Department/Program chair. 

 March 11, 2020

 

Failure to notify Department Chair by deadline of intent to go up for promotion to full professor
will result in delayed consideration until following year.

10/1/2021 Provost send CPE review outcome to the faculty and copy deans, dept chair or
director

Note: Deadlines for mail notification of tenure track non-renewal by certified mail:

2nd year non-renewal notification date: December 15, 2020.

• For faculty in the years 1-2, the notice states that the faculty member will not be
renewed in a tenure-track position beyond May 31, 2021.

3-5 year non-renewal notification date: April 30, 2021.

• For faculty in years 3-5 for a non-renew, the notice states that the faculty member will
not be renewed in a tenure-track position beyond May 31, 2022. 

 

* A rating of “unsatisfactory” or “does not meet expectations” in a faculty member’s first year
review will trigger an early review in the fall of the 2nd academic year.

**a faculty member seeking tenure and/or promotion or undergoing a post-tenure review does
not have to submit an annual evaluation separately; the aforementioned review submission will
suffice.

†The evaluation of the dossier of a Tenured faculty seeking promotion to full professor will
serve as an early Comprehensive Periodic Review.
