First Year In College Priority For Housing
First time in college?
Students who are entering their first year in college, sometimes referred to as FTIC Students (First-Time In College), receive priority for University Housing in completing a Residence Hall application! Last year, 90% of rooms were filled by June 1. The sooner you apply, the better your chances of getting your first pick. To take advantage of your first-year priority, students will need to have completed their Residence Hall application by May 1, 2023!
How does priority status work?
- Priority assignment of Students with First-time In College (FTIC) Status: FTIC students may begin to apply on October 3, 2022. FTIC students will receive priority assignments and can select a specific residence hall and room type if a completed application is received by May 1, 2023, based on the date of application and housing availability. FTIC students who fail to apply before May 1, 2023, may be assigned with all other residence hall applicants, (priority 3) based on the date of application.
- All other residence hall applicants may begin to apply on October 3, 2022. These students will be able to select a specific residence hall and room type from the remaining spaces after Priority 2 applicants, based on the date of application and housing availability
