West Hall offers an outstanding residence life staff which includes a Residence Director, Graduate Residence Director, Resident Assistants, and Office Assistants. The RAs are responsible for developing a positive atmosphere throughout the building. They plan a number of programs and activities to enhance the residents' time here and allow them to meet other residents living in the building. Our Office Assistants staff our hall desk Monday through Friday beginning at 10am and the weekends at noon and are available to check out equipment or help if a resident gets locked out of their room. The Residence Director and the Graduate Residence Director, as the professional staff of the building, are here to support the residents and the staff.

Residence hall living can be one of the best parts of your college experience, so it is highly recommended that residents take advantage of all that West Hall has to offer to those who want to get involved. From working with our Hall Council or Residence Hall Association (RHA), to playing on one of our intramural teams and participating in hall programs, West Hall offers something for everyone.

Meeting other students is one of the greatest assets of living in a residence hall. You can either select your own roommate or we will try to help you find one with a similar lifestyle and interests.

For applications submitted through April 27, 2019:

  • To request a roommate, log into the Housing Portal, select the AY 2019-2020 application, and navigate to the Roommate Search Page. You may search a known roommate or review other students looking for roommates to make a match. University Housing does not guarantee a roommate in the matching process; however, we work hard to place students with their roommate preferences. Once you’ve requested a roommate, they will have to accept your request before the match is made. If you select your own roommate, you both need to select the same hall and room during the room selection process.

For applications submitted after April 27, 2019:

If you select your own roommate, you both need to request the same hall and each other, and contract for the same type of room. University Housing does not guarantee a roommate in the matching process; however, we work hard to place students with their roommate preferences. Email to submit a roommate request.
