Meet Cody

I chose to come to UT Arlington because I felt that it was the best decision for me. It is close to home and my grandparents, and the engineering program aligned with my goals.

I chose engineering because, while working as an aviation electronics technician in the Navy. I had the opportunity to work alongside engineers at Lockheed Martin and Raytheon on some of the gear they created for the various aircraft we had on board the ship. It was cool to see them do things under the hood with code that I couldn’t do or even understand at the time.

I have always been interested in computers and how they worked. I didn’t know much about computer science when I first started college. Then I got a taste of coding with Java, and I’ve enjoyed the challenge of having to write code to solve certain problems. Also, the ability to create something from any computer that the world can ultimately use is awesome. I hope to use what I learn here in a cybersecurity role at a major company upon graduation.
