PROGRAMS

COE Alumni Coaching and Mentoring Program

This is an open-ended mentoring program facilitated by COE alumni. Students participate in virtual and face-to-face strategy sessions where they are given guidance on how to successfully navigate their career paths, and receive insights on the expectations of potential future employers by practicing alumni. Other topics are covered as determined by alumni and student needs.

Engineering Professional Technical Skills Series

As engineering majors, it is critical that students develop and can demonstrate APPLIED knowledge. In this series of hands-on seminars for paraprofessionals, students are introduced to and engaged with pertinent topics in their engineering field of study with an emphasis on the requirements to earn specific credentials, such as certifications, licensure and "power skills."

WORKSHOPS

SUCCESS WORKSHOP SERIES

The ESSC partners with multiple campus offices to contextualize university services and opportunities for our diverse student body. Connected to the first- and second-year experience programs, we host a variety of workshops every fall and spring semester that cater to students' personal and career success. At least two of these workshops are held every semester, and students should reference our events calendar for specific topics, dates, times and locations.

Mav Advantage Info Session/Student Panel

The Maverick Advantage program encourages the development of marketable skills through experiential learning opportunities inside and outside the classroom within five distinguishing activities: Career Development, Community Engagement, Global Engagement, Leadership Development and Undergraduate Research. During this session, students will learn more about what they need to do to earn the Mav Advantage Distinction upon graduation and hear about the experiences of students who have successfully completed the program.
