Frequently Asked Questions

What courses are being offered?

ECON 4306/5391 Comparative Economic Systems
MANA 4321/5331 International Management

Both courses are 3 credit hour classes and are available to undergraduates AND graduate students. You may enroll in one or both courses.

If you have already taken ECON 4306 or plan to take it at a later date, you can instead be enrolled in an Independent Study course for purposes of this study abroad program.

When will the program be offered?

Study abroad in Copenhagen is offered June 16 - July 3. You are responsible for arranging your own air travel. You may arrive sooner or stay later if you plan to travel independently. However, full arrival support will be offered on June 16 only. Note that you will need to depart the US on June 15 to arrive in Copenhagen on June 16.

Where will the classes be held?

The vast majority of the time in Denmark will be devoted to business visits, cultural visits, and day trips. There will be free time on the weekends (usually Friday through Sunday) to explore and travel.

Students will be enrolled in Summer 2025 courses at UTA. The ECON course will be completed online, aside from minimal class time while in Copenhagen. The MANA course will meet for about a week before departure, with some class time while abroad.

Am I eligible for the program?

Students must be in good academic and disciplinary standing with UTA in order to study abroad. Students must be enrolled at UTA for the term prior to studying abroad and during the application process. Once you submit the application, the undergraduate advising office will confirm whether you are eligible. Graduate students in good standing are eligible with advisor approval.

How do I apply?

There is a short one-page application after this FAQ. Completed application can be emailed to christianah.abatan@uta.edu or dropped off at the COB undergraduate advising office in Suite 107 no later than March 1. However, please note the program will likely fill up before that date. We recommend completing the application as soon as possible, as spots are limited.

How much will it cost?

The cost of the program is $2685 (with 22 students or more) plus airfare, most meals, spending money, and UTA summer tuition. With a Fouse Scholarship of $2500 and an International Education Fee Scholarship (IEFS) offered by the Office of Study Abroad of $800, your cost will be approximately $1100 plus spending money and tuition. Graduate students are not eligible for the Fouse Scholarship but are eligible for IEFS.
