What courses are being offered?

ECON 4306/5391 Comparative Economic Systems
ECON 4322/5391 International Finance
FINA 4324/5331 International Finance

Both courses are 3 credit hour classes and are available to undergraduates AND graduate students. Since this is a Wintermester program, you must choose one course to take.

When will the program be offered?

Study abroad in Panama is offered December 30 – January 9. You are responsible for arranging your own air travel. You may arrive sooner or stay later if you plan to travel independently. However, full arrival and departure support will be offered on December 30 and January 9 only.

Where will the classes be held?

Students will be enrolled in Winter Intercession 2025-26 courses at UTA, which run from December 15 to January 9. There will be a couple of in-person meetings at UTA after December 15, with the rest of the course being completed online. The vast majority of the time in Panama will be devoted to business visits, cultural visits, and day trips.

Am I eligible for the program?

Students must be in good academic and disciplinary standing with UTA in order to study abroad. Graduate students in good standing are eligible with advisor approval.

How do I apply?

Please apply no later than November 1. Once your application is processed, you will be notified via email of your eligibility. A spot will only be reserved once the deposit has been paid.

How much will it cost?

The cost of the program is $1730 plus airfare, some meals, spending money, UTA Winter Intercession tuition, and a passport (if needed).
