MSW Advising

Why get Advised?

  • Obvious answer:  to stay on track and graduate on time.

  • Not so obvious answer:  our MSW advisors are social workers themselves and have practiced in the field. They offer much insight into planning your social work career!

How often should I be advised?

All MSW students see their advisor at least once a semester. In some cases, students are required to do so to remove academic holds that prevent registration. Simply make an appointment using our online scheduling system. Be sure to select the correct advisor to avoid a delay in your appointment. Please arrive at your scheduled appointment time. If you are 15 minutes late to your scheduled appointment, you will need to reschedule your appointment
