University Tutorial provides undergraduate students with individualized tutoring in a variety of courses for FREE.  University Tutorial is the largest, one-on-one appointment-based tutoring service.  Student feedback consistently indicates a rise in grades and a strengthened confidence in students' ability to navigate their coursework.

Accessing TutorTrac

TutorTrac is an online appointment scheduling software program used to book a tutoring session.

  1. Visit https://tutortracutsi.uta.edu (works best with Mozilla Firefox).
  2. Log in with your NetID (ex: abc1234) and password (same as MyMav).
  3. Click Login.
  4. In the Student Options block on the left, click Search Availability.
  5. Choose the appropriate center by selecting University Tutorial.
  6. Choose the course/subject or help topic in the Section field.  Submit a Tutor Request Form if you do not find your course listed.
  7. Click on the appointment time to schedule; the next screen will show the appointment details.  Fill out the required fields and click Save.

How to Cancel Appointments 

  1. Log in to your TutorTrac account using your NetID and password.
  2. On your TutorTrac home page, visit the Welcome tab for your Upcoming Appointments.
  3. Find the appointment you wish to cancel.
  4. Then click on the circled X at the end of the appointment information.  A cancellation box appears for your appointment.
  5. Fill in the reason for the cancellation and click Confirm Cancellation.  An email confirmation will be sent to you, your tutor, and UTSI.

Please note that cancellations must be completed a minimum of 12 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time  to avoid a $10.00 no-show fee.

Tutoring sessions focus on:

  • Engaging students with their material
  • Incorporating learning styles
  • Building and strengthening study skills
  • Promoting independent learning and inquiry

Tutors are undergraduate or graduate students who have been recommended by professors, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and received an A or B in the subject they tutor. They must complete at least 10 hours of training before working with students and attend additional training sessions each semester.

Students may schedule sessions with a tutor during the week or on weekends, depending upon the tutor's schedule and availability. All tutoring sessions are held on the 2nd floor of the Central Library.  Regular semester tutoring hours: 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m Monday through Sunday.

UTSI Office Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
