Undergraduate Major Declaration Information

All entering students majoring in Architecture and Interior Design are admitted as Architecture-Intended or Interior Design-Intended majors.

All entering students majoring in Architecture and Interior Design are admitted as Architecture-Intended or Interior Design-Intended majors. As ARCH-Intended and INTD-Intended majors, students complete the 1st and 2nd Year Architecture courses in the course sequence while completing the Core Curriculum. Students can declare major for the fall semester only.

To declare a major, students must have completed the following requirements for admission to a degree program:

  1. Applicants must have a 2.8 cumulative GPA in all courses at UTA as well as 2.8 GPA in all courses within the School of Architecture. 
  2. Students must complete all the Basic Studies courses in Architecture (1st & 2nd year ARCH courses). 
  3. Students must complete the Core Curriculum as stated in the Degree Requirements for the B.S. in Architecture or Interior Design program.
  4. Students fulfilling all requirements for an architecture or interior design major must notify the school to confirm enrollment in the major.
