Dean's Leadership Circle: Founding Members

Nafees Alam, (2002)
I was fortunate to receive a generous scholarship while I attended UTA, it is very important to me to pay that forward so that others can access the benefits of education to change their lives.

I gave because the College of Business has given me so many opportunities and prepared me to be successful in my career! I would not be where I am today without the wonderful education I was provided and I hope to do the same for our future Mavericks!

My ongoing support of DLC recognizes the Dean’s commitment to continually raising the professionalism, value and impact of UTA business programs, to connect the program, and its students and graduates with the broader business community, and to support UTA business students through educational grants.

Darien George, (2002)
I gave because UTA provided me with an opportunity to develop, learn, and grow. I would not have had that chance if it weren’t for UTA.  I had fantastic professors, an incredible experience, and without UTA wouldn’t be where I am today. UTA was affordable enough to allow me to work full time and graduate without crippling debt.

The business world is changing rapidly. Educating the next generation to meet those challenges is critical. The Dean's Leadership Circle allows talented critical thinkers to take their education a step further.

The DLC was an amazing opportunity to support the students of the College of Business. As a working student, I remember how important is was to receive financial support, and I wanted to give back to the students in the college.

Being a DLC donor should be important to every alum of UTA’s College of Business.  The education I received set me on my way to a successful business career.  As a member of DLC, I look forward to sharing my experience as an entrepreneur and having the opportunity to mentor the next generation of business leaders.

I received an outstanding education (and career) from UTA. It is important to pay it forward so that others can benefit in the future.

Working with UT Arlington employer partners, I routinely hear 3 recurring feedback themes regarding Business Mavericks. 1) technically prepared, 2) unrivaled work ethic, & 3) no sense of entitlement. THAT is the future business leader I want to hire and – more importantly – the one I want to support today. UT Arlington College of Business students are either fully funding their education or have significant skin in the game. It is truly an honor to support this level of dedication, drive and determination.

I believe the DLC is an innovative way to engage business leaders with UTA students and the school, it allows us to open doors and remove roadblocks for students that want to work towards achieving their goals.

Most of those who have been successful feel an obligation to give back…understanding that there was much more to their personal achievements than just their own efforts. One’s education is the starting point for what career choices and success comes their way. So giving scholarships to those aspirants who have shown both aptitude and attitude for making the most of their opportunities felt like a wonderful way to give back.

UTA offered a quality, affordable education at a time in my life when I had begun to believe that goal might be out of reach for me.   Now, looking back, I am so thankful for the opportunities my accounting degree from UTA afforded me.  With that said, I believe that when you are blessed it is your responsibility to give back in a way that honors those who have blessed you and touched your life.  Knowing what just a few dollars of support would have meant to me as I worked my way through college, I cannot think of a more fitting way to share my blessings than by contributing to the Dean’s Leadership Circle and providing scholarships to future UTA Business students.   It is an exciting time to be a UTA Business School Alumni thanks to Dean Dombroski and his progressive leadership.   I look forward to more great things to come.

Neer Patel, (2006)
UTA was a part of the journey to get me where I am in my career/life and I want to give back to enable the same for others. DLC keeps me connected with the University and the College of Business! Also it's great to know 100% of my contribution goes to help scholarships!

Sandra Reeves, (1984)
Our hope is to support the DLC in their efforts to continue advancement of the program and to promote the College of Business at UTA

Molly Sandlin, MBA (2014)
I gave to the DLC because my journey at UTA has been and continues to be an integral part of my success. I believe this program enhances the experiences and opportunities for the students. From the education, to the professors, to the network of my classmates and other UTA alums, and to the experiences and opportunities from all those things, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I contribute to help other students experience the same.

James Sellers, (1998)
Being a DLC Donor means being a part of the growing ecosystem that surrounds UTA. Being a DLC Donor provides a great sense of happiness to know that deserving students are receiving scholarships to make sure they are able to complete their education at UTA. I am fortunate to have received a wonderful education from UTA’s College of Business.  My MBA from UTA has served as a foundation to establish a growing and successful business.  I am excited to give back to UTA, to help other’s find their success and realize their potential in life and business. I want to see every student to achieve their potential and realize their dreams.  I want to see all of UTA’s students go on to achieve greatness in business and in life.

Robert F. Strong, (1978)
I made an investment through a donation to the Dean’s Leadership Circle.  I refer to this as an investment rather than a donation.  I believe that there is a constant need to fund leadership development and expansion of business knowledge across all vocations and education channels.  As much as we would wisht to occur without money, sadly it starts with money.  I am confident in the leadership of the UTA Business School as it has provided myself as well as thousands of other graduates an excellent and needed foundation for business professionals.  I am proud to have benefited directly from this foundation.  For that I am very appreciative.

I am a first generation college graduate and benefited by a first rated education at CoB at UTA.   My education at CoB prepared me to compete with other Ivy graduates. I give to the College of Business Dean’s leadership Circle because it is important to support others as others previously supported me.  The business school at UTA is an excellent quality and value.  It prepared me well for my early career in accounting and finance which led to executive positions in the commercial real estate industry.  The College of Business continues to innovate in its programs and challenges students to perform well and prepare for employment after graduation. It is my pleasure to support the business students of UTA.  Go Mavs!
